A useful and enjoyable alternative from Bishop's Tachbrook for days when the fields are waterlogged or you simply fancy a change of scene. The route heads north through the village past the church and The Leopard, crosses Harbury Lane and threads through the Warwick Gates development on good surfaced paths, with a pleasant stretch alongside the playing field and through the residential streets of Heathcote before the return south past the pond. The urban setting offers its own kind of views — the contrast between the newer Warwick Gates development and the older village character of Bishop's Tachbrook is a walk in itself, and the open aspects on the return towards the village church and beyond give a sense of the wider countryside even from the pavement. A reliable, all-weather option when the boots need a rest.
