This is a classic Yorkshire Dales circular walk from Malham taking in the spectacular Malham Cove limestone amphitheatre, Gordale Scar waterfalls, and the beautiful Janet's Foss waterfall and pools. The route provides good photo opportunities throughout, starting with the approach to Malham Cove's base where exploration rewards before crossing the stream to the Pennine Way steps. The climb offers great views from the top, another excellent photo opportunity, though we diverted onto a winding path as the rocks proved quite slippery. The path continues over Sheriff Hill via Ewe Moor to the Dales High Way, leading to Gordale Bridge where the dramatic Gordale Scar and its waterfalls await - great views and picture opportunities once more. Retracing to Gordale Bridge, the river path descends to Janet's Foss, where the waterfall and pools provide yet more photo-worthy moments. The Airedale Way completes the circuit back to Malham, where we enjoyed a little detour to the pub for a well-earned pint and packet of crisps before returning to the car. A thoroughly enjoyable walk combining spectacular limestone scenery, multiple waterfalls, and excellent photography opportunities throughout.
