💡 Tony's Notes

<script type="text/javascript" src="httA varied and enjoyable circular from Kenilworth, combining quiet field paths and lanes through the Warwickshire countryside with three of the county's major long-distance routes — the A Coventry Way, the Millennium Way and the Centenary Way — and finishing with one of the finest castle ruins in England. The outward leg north via Hollis Lane and across the fields to join the A Coventry Way is pleasant lowland walking with wide views across the farmland, and the HS2 construction works in the area around Hob Lane serve as an unusual reminder of how dramatically this landscape is changing. The return south via the drive to Rudfyn Manor and the Millennium Way through the Chase Farm fields is quiet and well-surfaced, the approach to Kenilworth Castle along the track at the back of the ruins building anticipation perfectly. Kenilworth Castle itself needs no introduction — its great red sandstone towers rising above the earthworks are among the most stirring sights in Warwickshire — and the finish through Abbey Fields, past the remains of the ancient priory church, brings the walk to a fittingly historic conclusion. A thoroughly enjoyable walk through the rich history of one of Warwickshire's finest towns.ps://www.outdooractive.com/en/embed/338982131/js?mw=false"></script>
