💡 Tony's Notes

A great circular walk taking in the best of Lickey Hills Country Park and the countryside to the south towards Barnt Green and the Bittell Reservoirs. The outward leg follows the Woodpecker Trail through woodland past the impressive Earl of Plymouth Monument obelisk and up to the toposcope at nearly 300m where the views are great on a clear day. The path through Lickey Hill Golf Club brings you back to the road and down towards Cofton Hackett before the route heads east and south to the Bittell Reservoirs - a pleasant stretch past open water before arriving in Barnt Green. The return over the railway and through the woods back onto the Woodpecker Trail is a satisfying finish, with the clear path between Lickey Warren and Cofton Hill leading you on a final gentle climb back to the car park. A thoroughly enjoyable walk combining well-marked long-distance trails with some quieter field and reservoir paths and a couple of interesting historical features along the way.
