This is an outstanding Welsh mountain walk in the Cadair Idris range, taking in three Hewitts with magnificent views throughout. The route includes several wild walking sections where pathless navigation is required, adding an adventurous element to the day. Craig-y-Llyn offers superb views of Barmouth Bay, while Craig Las provides vistas north towards Cadair Idris itself. The highest summit, Cyfrwy at 811 metres, rewards with views across the Irish Sea and north across Snowdonia (Eryri). The descent provides beautiful views down the valley back to Llanfihangel-y-Pennant. A challenging and rewarding route requiring good navigation skills and mountain experience. An ascent of Cadair Idris can also be added if you have the energy.
