💡 Tony's Notes

This is an excellent walk along the southern section of the Malvern Hills ridge, taking in seven distinct summits with brilliant views from all of them across the surrounding countryside. Notable features include Midsummer Hill, which has been held by the National Trust since 1923 in memory of Captain Reginald Somers Cocks, M.C., and the impressive Iron Age hillfort at Herefordshire Beacon. The route has been designed to create a circular walk rather than a simple out-and-back, using different paths and quiet roads for variety. The multiple ascents provide a good workout, with approximately 650 metres of cumulative climbing, while the ridge walking offers classic Malvern Hills scenery. The retrace section allows flexibility in path choice, and the route showcases the varied landscape of this beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
